At TSL, we know that building a workplace where everyone belongs is not just morally the right thing to do, but that it will create a stronger and healthier working environment and a better company.
We invest in our people to help keep everyone healthy and feeling valued and we are proud to have been awarded Investors in Wellbeing status in recognition of our efforts.
We ensure that everyone is given the right tools, training and enough time to do their jobs safely in a safe environment.
Think safe, work safe, home safe is how we operate and we have fully embedded a safety led culture in all parts of the business.
In addition to our standard array of general safety related training courses, this year we will be rolling out a new behavioural training programme across the business to cement further our commitment to prioritising safety.
We are also now delivering our new, comprehensive best practice occupational health programme to support our workforce.
We recognise that strong visible leadership supports a safety and well being culture.
This year we will be developing further our programme of regular site visits by our managing director, and other senior leaders and directors will also make regular visits to projects and offices across the business.
Company-wide HR drop-in surgeries will also be arranged on a regular basis moving forward.
We value our workforce and offer a comprehensive programme of support. Our private medical cover is available to all employees and their families and includes cashback benefits for dental and optical services, home blood test screening kits, and phone/online access to GP and clinical advice services.
In addition, our award winning Employee Assistance Programme is available 24/7, providing access to advice, support and counselling services.
We have a network of visible and accessible Mental Health First Aiders at all levels across the business who have been trained to support colleagues who are struggling with mental health issues.
We are also partnered with the Lighthouse Club which is the construction industry charity that provides free confidential mental, physical, emotional and wellbeing support 24/7 to workers and their families. The charity is staffed by former construction industry workers and support is available to all workers by phone and text. Please see the details below.
We are committed to creating a working environment where everyone has their voice heard and where the different viewpoints and experiences people bring are valued. We believe that enabling everyone to be the best version of themselves at work leads to high performing teams and business success.
We fully endorse both the spirit and principles of the Fair Work Convention. For further information, please click here.
We will conduct regular workforce surveys to ensure people are heard, feel included and are able to actively contribute to shaping our future plans.
We will ensure that hiring managers are trained in inclusive recruitment practices to ensure fair and unbiased decision making.
We will continue to embed the principles of the Disability Confident Employer Scheme throughout our business. We are committed to attracting, supporting and retaining disabled employees and we will strive to progress to the next level of the scheme membership at renewal.
We will keep our policies and practices under constant review to ensure they support an inclusive working environment and fair compensation and recruitment practices.
Collectively we are greater than the sum of our parts and our strength as a company is built on effective teamwork. We believe good teamwork builds stronger relationships, improves morale and creates a more positive and collaborative work environment.
This year, we will deliver further diversity and inclusivity training for the senior leadership team.
We are an accredited Real Living Wage employer and we will continue to support fair wage practices.
