The project involved the comprehensive repair, refurbishment, and structural alteration of the Iona Community’s Welcome Centre and Abbey facilities on the Isle of Iona, with a key focus on improving accessibility.

Repair and refurbishment of the existing Welcome Centre.
Re-rooming and internal structural alterations within the Welcome Centre.
Installation of a new lift within the Abbey.
Construction of a new stairwell to improve access to the West range accommodation areas.
Key challenges and successes
Despite significant challenges, including frequent ferry disruptions and the need for unforeseen structural repairs, the project was successfully completed on time and within budget.
